BAFICI: día 6

Querido diario:

Ya que hoy es mi último día de festival y arrastro el cansancio de la maratónica jornada porteña, decidí armar un programa ligero. Busqué películas que me mantengan despierto, porque ayer dormí solo unas pocas horas. Dejé las grandes películas contemplativas y experimentales para otro momento y fui por tres filmes que anticipan drama social, sensualidad y humor.

Por coincidencia las dos primeras son francesas, pero nada tienen que ver con el filme intelectual de autor. “Tomboy”, de Céline Sciamma, cuenta los dramas identitarios una chica de aspecto masculino que se hace pasar por chico en un vecindario donde acaba de instalarse. La película, de factura bastante clásica, se concentra en la construcción de personajes y el despliegue de un conflicto que desenlaza en un final esperanzador. “Léa”, de Bruno Rolland, cuenta la historia de una joven que vive en una pequeña ciudad francesa, con ansias de estudiar ciencias políticas. Para lograrlo tiene que trabajar como stripper. El filme vuelve sobre una larga lista de filmes europeos que retratan la marginalidad y la exclusión social sin darle ninguna vuelta de tuerca.

Finalmente, me encontré con una revelación: “The Woman in the Septic Tank”, del director filipino Marlon N. Rivera. La película narra, en clave de comedia, las tribulaciones de un grupo de jóvenes empeñados en realizar una película independiente para conquistar la gloria en los mejores festivales del mundo. El filme que proyectan hacer los personajes cuenta la historia de una mujer que, sumida en la pobreza, se ve obligada a vender a uno de sus hijos para mantener a los otros. La película escenifica con mucho humor las distintas posibilidades y estilos de rodaje que tiene el guión. Asi se presenta una versión contemplativa, otra musical y una tercera melodramática. Con mucha agudeza la película ironiza sobre la espectacularización de la miseria en la que operan con frecuencia los cineastas del tercer mundo. No termino de entender como este filme puede estar en la sección competitiva internacional junto al argentina “Los salvajes”, que recoge todos los lugares comunes del miserabilismo latinoamericano. !Oh Filipinas guia nuestro camino por favor!
